- Hi, (If you can help me or not, Hi!)
-
- I am a bit confused as to what board I should buy... I cant decide between
- the Apollo 1220 (28Mhz '020 +68882) and Viper 28 MKII (28 Mhz '030 no FPU).
-
- On the side of the Apollo I get an '020 clocked at 28 Mhz and a 68882 FPU,
- no SCSI controler and a max of 4 MB FAST RAM. All for ú86 (I dont pay VAT
- when importing. org. price ú99.99)
-
- On the other hand I can get a Viper 28 MKII with full (I think so..) '030
- and MMU with SCSI connecter and a max of 128 MB ram + optional FPU, for an
- extra ú18 (ú103 Viper 28 MKII) Plus full kickstart remapping.
-
- The FPU on the Apollo isnt all that fast, 28 Mhz.
-
- What I want to know is whether or not to go for the 030 or 020 + FPU?
-
- (NOTE: I will be adding a 4 MB or 8MB standard 72pin SIMM to the board)
-
- If anybody out there can mail me some info on the Viper 28 MKII please
- do so, I cant call the place in the UK since I live in South Africa.
- A few comparisons (mips ratings etc.) will do just great!
-
- If you wish to mail me please do so, but also post the message for other
- people who might have this little problem...
-
- Thanx.
- Jacques Toerien.
